Oh Hai.
I have uploaded a new image tonight, 8.04.02 aka "Back in Black". I
thought it best to announce it on this list first and I was hoping
that someone might like to give it a try and supply feedback before
making any announcements on the blog or forum.
Personally, I am really dead chuffed with this latest image and
consider it the best yet. The image is a complete rebuild from scratch
and there have been quite a few changes made, many of which revolve
around XFCE4, which is now available as an alternative environment to
the default Openbox session.
There are too many changes to mention in this brief prerelease
message, but I will try to document as many of the changes as I can
for the release notes proper.
Anyhow, if you are interested in checking out the image, you can grab it from:

If anyone would like to help out with providing mirrors and/or torrent
downloads, it would be totally appreciated.
Also, for this build, I have written a Bash script so that the image
can be built directly from a minimal/CLI install of Ubuntu. I need to
do a bit more testing on the script first, but hope to make it
available after the weekend.
Looking forward to hearing any feedback/rants about the latest image :D
Cheers
